Which project matches my platform, CPU and game build?
| What matters | SpartanPort | shadPS4 eltutz |
|---|---|---|
| System | Windows; experimental Linux AppImage, including Steam Deck | Windows |
| CPU requirement | x86-64 with AVX | AVX2; release tuned for the maintainer's build CPU |
| Program setup | Packaged game-specific launcher and runtime | Separate emulator, QtLauncher files and game patch file |
| Game build | CUSA01623 and CUSA01715, 01.00 or 01.02 |
CUSA01715 with 01.02 for its bundled patches |
| Game fixes | Bundled and applied where their signatures match | Separate patch selection and matching emulator settings |
| Graphics and input | Port launcher and in-game menu | QtLauncher and game-specific emulator settings |
| Saves | Launcher backups and restoration | Its own emulator data paths; matching PS4 slots can move into SpartanPort |
| Program updates | Launcher updater; older Linux packages need one manual replacement | Separate launcher and emulator files to maintain |
Both routes use the PS4 Remastered edition and include game-specific rendering work. Use SpartanPort on Linux or on an AVX CPU without AVX2; eltutz v3 requires Windows and AVX2.
For the exact platform prerequisites, use Requirements. If your game is the PS3 original, choose by PC port vs RPCS3 instead of this PS4 comparison.
Which one should I choose for my first installation?
The combined launcher reduces the number of components you need to configure. Its platform guides lead from one program package to PLAY, while settings, input mapping and save recovery stay in the same launcher.
For a black screen, crash, texture problem or high-frame-rate blocker, use Troubleshooting to find the next action.
Continue to Download, Windows or Linux & Steam Deck. For the old gow3_pc name and how the runtime works, use the SpartanPort project page.
When should I keep using eltutz?
eltutz keeps a shadPS4 emulator and QtLauncher workflow. Its game patches and settings belong together: the texture fix requires Additional DMem Allocation of at least 2048, and its 120 FPS patch needs Vblank Frequency of 120. Use SpartanPort's Settings for its graphics controls.
Keep feedback about that build in the cuesta4 fork. If you move an existing save into SpartanPort, follow Saves for matching title IDs and slot layout.
Are gow3_pc and the older forks different choices?
gow3_pc and SpartanPort are the same project before and after a rename. FableCraze's GoW3R Windows Port remains a development project without a release package. For a first installation, use the packaged route above.
Older Linux guides can point to 2.1.x forks, including R-V-L. The current main project already includes its own experimental Linux AppImage. Start with that current package for Linux & Steam Deck, and keep the old fork installation available while moving a matching PS4 save through Saves.
